Hello! I'm Kayla, a knitter, crafter, artist, tea drinker, book reader, music enjoyer, etc. living amidst the forested coastal valleys of British Columbia, Canada. Thank you so much for stopping by!
Fig Cottage was born of my desire to make things that are practical, warm and inviting, yet whimsical and fun. Inspired (mostly) by the flora and fauna of home, cozy spaces, literary/film characters and places, and all manner of whimsical, magical things, I love to translate ideas into knitted pieces. I also crochet, cross stitch, sew, bake, and have been known to draw, paint and write.
Most of my work is done in a little studio, tucked away in one part of my home. It's a small space, but it's also a warm and cozy one where I can revel in the sight of and draw inspiration from baskets of yarn, little stacks of fabric, favourite books, art, movies, and sometimes TV, too.
